Work Started 12th June 2007

Thursday 5th July

Scaffold on the tower nearly complete

 

Tuesday 10th July

Work gets underway on the tower

Weathervane removed. Substantial loss of integrity to metalwork. Timber boss decayed on underside and split - replacement required.

Spire mast: Extensive decay and beetle attack evident in top section.

 

Thursday 12th July

Work continues on the tower. The edge of the gutter is breaking away from the wall

Parts of the clerstory wall are being repointed.

Friday 20th July 2007

Repointing work continues on the clerstory wall

 

 
On the tower, a new mounting for the spire has been installed, and the old screed has been removed back to the top of the tower wall.
The end of one of the main cross beams.  

Wednesday 1st August

An old bees nest is removed from a chimney and a new pot installed.

A new exit onto the tower roof is being constructed. Boarding of the spire is complete - we are now waiting for the lead.
Boarding of the gutter is complete - waiting for the lead.  
Sumps are complete - new lead lining are being constructed.

Thursday 6th September

New roof exti is complete

 

New lead gutters are finished

- just a bit of tiling to do now!

Thursday 18th October

Work has moved to the south aisle

 
The North facing roof has had tiles striped and the valley gutter opened up

Thursday 7th November

The valley gutter is waiting for metal and the roof tiles!
